June 26 Revisted
Last month, I posted the following:
"On June 26th, 2005, the Yankees were 6.5 games down from Boston. We've got about 40 days to get there."
We are now only 3 games away from the goal with 16 days to make them up. Although the number is meaningless in any actual sense, I think the Yankees are aware of what they did in 2005 and if they could be in the same position going into the second half this season, it would be a great confidence boost to a team that is feeing better about itself every day.
I greatly look forward to the possibility of eating my words about Joe Torre and the Yankees demise.

Haha, well I'm sure Steiner's bloggers can forgive you for losing faith. But these are exciting times. The Yankees have looked good and have won six straight. Let's hope that by June 26 the margin will be less than 6.5 games.
Also, I saw Phil's post below on Rocket. Was his fastball nearing the mid-90s?
It's nice that some of there bats are coming alive.
Actually, in some sense, they're already that close. The Yanks are only 5.5 out of the wild card (though with a couple of teams in front of them)
I don't buy the mariners and the As as wild card threats. Both teams don't have consistent enough hitting and in seattle's case, the pitching ain't that great either.
We'll have to stop the philosopher king, master sheff
Listen,
I once caught Brien Taylor in a bullpen in Albany. He had more than Rockit Clemers could ever muster.
Your team, and your faith in her, are all used up...Ain't no one riding a horse around the infield this fall. Just pickin up what she leaves behind.
Real nice, anonymASS. You come back around these parts in September and we'll see what's for.
I don't need to come back. It's over.
There's less optimism today than during the unforgettable '91 campaign featuring the dynamic Mass-Meulens-Kelly combo...
What's over is your days posting anonymously, anonymASS. Over. We don't need negativity around here. And we won't tolerate it.
Peace OUT, anonymASS.
THIS is what our race demands. Our Pennant Race. Niceah.
