GIAMBI OUT FOR SEASON; BERNIE WILLIAMS *NOW*
The NY Post reports that Giambi is out for the season.
Why not bring back Bernie right now to full time DH? This team was nearly out of it before Jason went down. Now the situation is even worse.
Why not see if Bernie and Roger and catch lightning in a bottle and turn this team around?

I read somewhere that the plan for right now was to DH Damon and put Melky in center. Kevin Thompson will be brought up from Scr/WB to fill the roster spot. My first thought when I heard about Giambi was to bring back Bernie. I just wonder how long it would take for him to get ready. Oh, how I long to hear the sonorous voice of John Sterling bellow "BERN BABY BERN!" once more.
I'd love to see Bernie come back also. I guess we should look at it like this:
How much will Damon's numbers improve because he's not playing the field? And how much better will Bernie's numbers be than Melky Cabrera's? And how long would it take for Bernie to play back to form?
I think Damon's numbers will improve because he's not playing the field. He plays with a lot of aches and pains. Bernie's numbers will certainly be better than Cabrera's, but the ROI won't be apparent until after the All Star break.
Either way, I don't want Melky's bat in the line up every day to end rally's and high run scoring innings.
By the way! There's a new Poll out there to be voted on. Cast your vote ASAP.
Who the hell voted the Yanks would win the division? I'm guessing Steiner did that...
