June 26th, 2005

On June 26th, 2005, the Yankees were 6.5 games down from Boston. We've got about 40 days to get there.

Let's get this done.

Go Yanks!

That June 26th team turned it around with Jason Anderson, Tony Womack,Carl Pavano, Jaret Wright on 60-day DL, Bubba Crosby, Wayne Franklin, Darrell May, Tim Redding, Al Leiter, Aaron Small, Kevin Brown, Felix Rodriguez, Andy Phillips, Alex Graman, Shawn Chacon, Alan Embree, Buddy Groom,
Melky Cabrera was a bright spot though.

Since, Villone is back, he's going to turn this disaster around. Watch out Metropolitans the Yankees are coming for you.

Braves released Craig Wilson. Maybe Yankees should sign him to battle Andy Phillips for the 4th first baseman spot.

I missed this. I know he was demoted but I thought it was to Scranton/WB

Optioned LHP Kei Igawa to Class-A Tampa

Could this be the biggest blunder of the Cashman era?

The reason that Igawa was sent to Tampa was to work with the pitching gurus there. I guess they are trying to reconstruct his delivery. Only time will tell if signing Kei was a gigantic blunder. Now, Hideki Irabu...there was a gigantic blunder. And signing him was a mistake too.

Oh, I love talking about Cashman blunders! Where should we begin?

Kevin Brown
Carl Pavano
Jaret Wright
Javier Vazquez
Jose Contreras
Kei Igawa
Randy Johnson
Jeff Weaver

Take your pick. Sure, some of these blunders are bigger than others, and yes, Cashman does not deserve complete condemnation for all of them. But it's an impressive list nonetheless, and all the result of five years work.

Cashman has made some moves that haven't worked out. (Vazquez was an All-Star when he was here.) The others you listed were either busts or couldn't handle New York.

He has done some good though. Bringing the Yankees to Moosic.
He got potential pitchers for Randy Johnson Gary Sheffield.

Acquired
Alex Rodriguez
Bubba Crosby
Scott Proctor
Aaron Boone
David Dellucci
Jeff Nelson
Esteban Loaiza
Wilbert Nieves
Al Leiter
Ron Villone

So Hail Hail to Cashman

Listen to you!

You're rattling on about the Cashman Blunders like that's the newest show on Broadway! Umm, anybody happen to notice that this team is simply bad? The 2007 Yankees are the perfect analogy to the Iraq war-- expensive and ineffective policy at work.

Brown and Pavano are the most sickening. Many of those other people did well with other teams afterwards. But brown and pavano are just sickening.
