Big Surprise: Pavano likely out for season

Looks like Pavano is going to need TJ surgery.

I just want to formally apologize to Mr. George King for comments I made several weeks ago.

Oh no. He's like done as a Yankee. 18 months recovery puts him at 2009 return. He contract ends after the 2008 season. Sign him again like Octavio Dotel. Say $100 million for 4 years. Why not? The $40 million you gave him worked out well. And don't be playing the injury b.s. He had 1 good season and got a lot more money than anyone else was offering.

$40 million for 19 starts? That's a better deal than what Clemens gets.

I hope he does have the surgery. Then everyone won't be asking, When's Pavano coming back? If he has the surgery, Torre and Cashman can say he's having Tommy John surgery, he's expected to be out 18 months. He's contract ends after next season and he won't be resigned unless he pays the Yankees to play.
