World Series Open Thread

Is anyone even watching these games? How about those midterm elections?

Have at it, you barbarians.

Yeah, I've been watching these games. Watching the Detriot offensive sputter a little bit. Polanco and Granderson have done nothing at the plate. Nor has Rodriguez.

Looking forward to game six though.

Detroit is not a great hitting team. Their pitching is obviously what got them into the playoffs and to this point. Guys who hit .250 or .260 during the regular season are definitely going to struggle against good pitchers like Carpenter. Too bad the Yankees don't have any good pitchers.

I've watched all three games as well. The key to this series was the Cards taking Game 1.

Now, being up 2-1 with 2 more games at home, they are in a position of confidence, and Suppan has been brilliant this post-season. The Cards are a pretty shabby hitting team as well, but their pitching has been more consistent.

Pitching = Championships.

I just seems like the long season and the pressure has finally caught up to some of the Tigers pitching. I'll be interested to see what Verlander brings in Game 5.

I still like Detroit in this series with Bonderman, Verlander, and Rogers going in the next three.

I think the next two games are even and they should be rather exciting. Suppan vs. Bonderman and Verlander vs. Reyes.

Let's just hope they split so we can see Carpenter and Rogers go at it in game six.

If Detroit doesn't win tonight, does Rogers pitch tomorrow?

Absolutely not. Verlander is the man. And again, they would have to win all three anyway. Maybe Bonderman would go in a game seven.

Maybe if Kenny Rogers would take off his skirt and pitch somewhere outside of Detroit, he could have helped his team through a difficult road series at St. Louis. But no, let's not sell our hero short, he's the best (scared, little kitten of a Tiger) pitcher on that team.

If St. Louis wins tonight, Detroit is toast.

One more to go for the Cards.

Even if St.Louis wins tomorrow, this was a very hard-fought WS. Detroit just picked the absolute worst time to slump.
