A-Rod Trade Rumor #312: CUBS
The Chicago Cubs Manager-Elect "Sweet" Lou Piniella, a man who has my unmitigated devotion and respect, holds a candle for A-Rod.
Aramis Ramirez and that monstrous lefty Sean Marshall sound like reasonable compensation in this potential exchange.

You should listen to the man you are devoted to and respect, recognize A-Rod's worth, and support the only reasonable cause of action:
Keep A-Rod.
Check out this line from teh article:
"The 63-year-old manager and the 31-year-old Rodriguez have what amounts to a quasi-father/son relationship."
Bullshit. That reminds me of how the media said for years that A-Rod and Jeter were "best friends." It's all ridiculous.
And Adam, Sean Marshall? The guy is not a Prior, Wood, or Zambrano waiting to happen. He's not a power pitcher, for one, and he had a really lousy rookie campaign. He could be something down the road, but so could Phil Hughes. He doesn't excite me.
Things I like about Sean Marshall:
1) He doesn't cost us $17 million/year.
2) He never said Jeter had it easy.
3) He could probably get ONE RBI in the postseason if he was a hitter.
4) He's not bi-racial, he is not handsome.
5) He doesn't need five therapists to tell him he's a good ballplayer.
But seriously, I *know* he is not the second coming, he's a decent left-handed pitcher who is dirt cheap. What, you want Ted Lilly instead?
Yes! Yes! Had we not traded Weaver for him, we've probably have two more World Series under our belt. And I mean that.
You might be right about that...
