Hal Stein. made an offer of 3 year $45 million. Mariano wants a 3 year $54 million.
So there's the deal. Posada wants back. Hal wants Mariano. The fans want Mariano. He's got the number of years now take the deal.
Who will give him $45 million +? We should all be worried that someone will.

I'm not worried. Not worried one iota. Why wouldn't Rivera finish up his career in NY. It just doesn't make sense to leave.
As Hal or Hank or whoever said, the Yankees have offered him $4 million more per than any reliever in baseball. If that's not good enough for him, let him go to the Dodgers. I'm sick of these guys. As best I can recall, Mariano has blown the last three big saves we needed from him.
Mo's coming back; no one turns down an extra 4 mil a year in cold hard cash.
Why is is that the yanks should be gouged? I love mo, but no reliever is worth 15 mil a season.
