Joe Torre Is A Racist, Might As Well Be The Grand Wizard Of The KKK
Anyone hear this about Gary Sheffield saying Torre was biased against Blacks? He didn't manage them or something to that effect.
Well now Kenny "83 games played in 2004 and batted 9th" Lofton comes out agreeing with Sheffield.
Everyone knows that there's a big I in Sheffield but Lofton's now backing him up. It's just another way of getting attention. Kicking the Yankees while they're down or is there some truth to it? All truth?
I don't think he's a racist. I do think this is Torre's last year.

Reports say the Red Sox will go after Alex Rodriguez. If that's the case maybe the Yankees can move to the NL West.

I think Mo and Jeter and Bernie Williams would obviously call Sheffield a nut job.
I think it has more to do with what I said earlier: Joe probably does have a problem managing big egos, and such players haven't fit in well with the Yankees under Torre. That Sheffield is black was secondary to the fact that he's an egomaniac, and let's face it, he's never been happy anywhere.
But the fact that Joe can't find a way to relate to guys like Sheffield (and perhaps A-Rod?) is a problem, and it might say something about why the talent yet ego heavy teams of the past few seasons seemed to lack any chemistry.
Darryl Strawberry never said anything bad about Torre. David Justice never said anything bad about Torre. Cecil Fielder never said anything bad about Torre. Tony Clark never said anything bad about Torre. Tony Tarasco never said anything bad about Torre. Homer Bush never said anything bad about Torre. Shall I continue?
This team is turning it around. Watch Hughes is back next month. Abreu is hitting like a mad man. Rivera is saving everything in sight. The Grand Wizard is turning this ship around.
