So says the NY Times.

Is this going to be the excuse this year for not winning the World Series?

Come on, obviously player don't want to be in New York. Matsui gets hurt - yet again. Pavano's pushed back. Mussina is scratched.

Pathetic.

Well, that's a fairly interesting article. But I'd probably use a phrase from last year that always rang true in my mind.

The loss of Mangold will be "worth 1/4 of one game over the course of the whole season." Or something to that effect.

In the meantime, what the hell are we going to do?

Wang and Karstens out until the end of the month, so at least another week. Mussina and Pavano on the 15 day DL.

Who should we bring up? Do we opt to the bullpen, say Henn or Proctor?

Hopefully tomorrow's game will be cancelled due to snow/rain. Then Iguana, Rasner, Pettite again no?
