World Series Wrap-up
Well, that sucked. I guess that's what you get when the best team from the American League is again sitting on its ass for most of October.
Sheff for Kenny Rogers? It could happen. It should happen.

I enjoyed the series!
Seriously, the games were not blow-outs, both teams were closely matched, but fielding errors hurt Detroit. I think Anthony Reyes was an exciting story, I am amazed that Polanco went 0-for the entire series after being the ALCS MVP. Sure it would have been more fun if the series went back to Detroit (so we could see our generation's greatest pitcher throw one more game!) but regardless, I enjoyed watching it.
So now that's yet ANOTHER new team to win the WS in the last few years. (2000: NY, 2001: Arizona, 2002: Angels, 2003: Marlins, 2004: BoSox, 2005: White Sox, 2006: Cards). There are no dynasties in baseball as of now. And a team's showing in the regular season does not determine their postseason chances. I wouldn't call the Cards unworthy, they played their best and beat some very good teams. Congrats to them.
The errors killed Detroit, and many bizarre pitchers' errors, too. It was a hard fought series, but the level of play wasn't very high. I think baseball is ready for another dynasty or big story. The game has never been healthier as far as regular season attendance, which is because of the great parity we've had so far this decade, but as those awlful Tommy Lasorda ads indicate, if you're a casual fan there isn't much reason to tune in to see if Detroit or St. Louis wins.
