This was a good move by the Yanks, although I wouldn't have thought so a couple of weeks ago. However, the new collective bargaining agreement is really going to open up the vaults. 13 million is much more managable now than it was before.
I'd say they are certainly going to trade him. And I think we could still get a Scott Shields or Erwin Santana out of this, especially if the team is interested in an extension and Sheff is included in the talks. This could be a very smart move by the front office.

Seriously, it's a brilliantly obvious move. Trade him and reap the benefits.
And it assures us we can keep A-Rod (Yay!).
