One to go...

Who bats behind A-Rod Thursday night with Posada out of the Burnett-led lineup? Who cares? Just make sure whoever bats in front of A-Rod gets on base because that lucky bastard has his ticket punched to cross homeplate.

In other news, I have "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days", "You, Me and Dupree" and "Bride Wars" in my Netflix queue. Allah Praise Kate!

The Angels look over-matched, too.

Can anyone stop us this year? And does it take away from our accomplishment that we have the two best purchased players (C.C. and A-Rod) in the game?

Thoughts?

I do think the Phillies will be formidable with Cliff Lee. If Charlies had good good sense, he'd consider pitching Lee and Hammels on three days rest in the World Series.

As recent years have proven, having the best players money can buy does not guarantee championships in baseball. This isn't like the NBA where Michael Jordan could determine an entire team's success (with talented but otherwise marginally good teammates supporting one star).

And Sabathia's post-season ERA & A-Rod's post-season batting have only looked good this year (prior years, not so much). Baseball, more than any other sport, depends on timing to determine a team's fortunes.

As for Philly, they're tough. But let's not speak of the World Series. The Yankees have fucked up with 3 wins in their pocket during the ALCS before. Focus. Courage.

You, Me & Dupree was at least somewhat funny, but the other two... yikes. Do yourself a favor and put Almost Famous at the top of the queue - you won't regret it.

Yeah I was going to say that bride wars set back feminism ten years. Anyhow, people said that we "bought" the championship 10 yrs ago. People are idiots.
The philly fans are fired up for the yanks. Lee is scary, but hamels is not so good.
