Bobby Murcer Is Dead

I will miss Bobby. Along with the Boss, he was the last link to the Yankees of my youth. He seemed like a real gentleman, and boy, did he love the Yankees. My dad never liked him as a broadcaster, because he said he was a "rooter"--in other words, always rooting for the Yankees, going easy on them, barely containing his excitement. But that was what I loved about him. Like so many other personalities that span large periods of our lives, Bobby was family.
