Santana to the Mets
Looks like the Metropolitans are getting Santana for 4 prospects. The Mets have the most to lose by not getting him. They've got some good players and some aging guys. The Phillies will be near the top of the division so they needed an upgrade. They also had no star pitcher on the way up.
Now they'll have to pay $20 million for 6 years.
Yankees fans should be able to live with that. At least he didn't go to the Red Sox.

This is very good news for the Yankees. We are right back in it, just a half step behind the Bosox. We've got a better offense, equal starting pitching. The pen is a disaster, though.
As soon as McCain and Hillary wrap this up on Tuesday, we'll be back to baseball, I guarantee.
I'm fine with it also. What's strange is that the Yankees' original offer (Hughes, Melky, B-level prospect) is probably better than what the Twins ending up getting.
If McCain and Hillary wrap this up on Tuesday, there shouldn't be baseball.
Don't get discouraged, Ron Paul will be running as an independent.
So will Ralph Nader.
Dan, we're setting up the fantasy league for 2008. An invite was sent to your echoes email. Do you still use that? You haven't signed up yet.
I got a error message with the (Yahoo) server. Perhaps it's Microsoft sending Yahoo a message.
I'll try later.
When's the deadline?
As long as you're in, the spot is yours. Just wanted to make sure.
It's AL only, btw. Don't want another situation like we had with Javitz in 1994.
If you have someone else in mind, I would step aside. I don't know how committed I will be. I don't want to cause any problems here.
You're in. If you're not committed, you'll just finish last and be shamed.
Is there a "steroid league" and "non-steroid league"?
Dan, are you going to sign up?
