Steve Howe RIP

He was perhaps the most troubled ballplayer in history (I think 9 separate drug suspensions). I hope he had managed to turn his life around.

I remember when Steve Howe and Steve Farr gave the Yankees a dominant ass end pen. Those were the glory days. Now we've got that Rivera character blowing saves and such.

Wow, it's interesting to look back at his numbers. He was the closer in 1994, getting the job after Xavier Hernandez, a highly touted free agent, went bust. Had 15 saves and a 1.80 ERA before the strike. Had a 1.68 ERA in 1991 for Stump Merrill's Yankees. Check out the numbers for this bullpen. We'd take it now.
