I think this is basically what I've been saying. I don't think he wanted a one year contract, certainly not one that said Pennant or your fired. I think that was just unacceptable, and would have been a year long distraction.
Interesting angle I just read on espn.com: A-Rod did not like Buck Showalter, and he doesn't like Girardi because he sees him as a Showalter type manager.
I'm sad this morning. I think about how Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi will soon be running this country, and how they're going to tear down Yankee Stadium and let some boob run the team...
I just watched the complete Torre press conference (I'm obsessed, I know). I'm going to miss him.
Does Steinbrenner realize what he owes Joe Torre? The Yankees were so bad for so long under Steinbrenner. When did this franchise become one that only accepted ultimate victory? One for which a world championship was the only acceptable outcome? Joe Torre's teams made the Yankee myth viable again. And in doing so, Torre and his players saved Steinbrenner from being remembered not only as a joke, but also a failure.
Which is probably why Steinbrenner doesn't like Joe Torre.

Buck Showalter for President.

So many variables now.
A-Rod likes ugly women in Toronto too!

The Yankees GM has been absent for almost ten days.
Can someone explain that? Torre gets fired and he has nothing to say.
He's still in mourning.
