Wright traded

Yanks look to have traded Wright for Chris Britton. Britton looks like a solid middle-relief guy, and Wright was worthless, so I can't complain too much about this one.

By far the best line of the article. "Brian Cashman admitted Thursday that the team can't count on Carl Pavano, who hasn't pitched for the Yankees since June 2005 because of shoulder, backs, buttocks, elbow and rib injuries."

Man, just seeing all the injuries listed at once is humbling.

I like both deals. Looks like we're actually doing some rebuilding and that's something I definitely wanted to happen this offseason.

I don't know how common this is, but we didn't have a single 20 game winner this season. I think Santana had 19.

Geez, you think Jaret Wright was ready to roast Torre and the organization for not dealing with him like a man? Sheff, a real man doesn't act like a baby.

Take care, Jaret. He had his ups and downs, but he always did his best. He held down the back-end of the rotation last season. His contribution may not be big in our minds, but he was defintiely a positive part of what we did last season.

As for Carl Pavano, the headline should be "HIGHEST-PAID PITCHER OF ALL TIME!" He only started 17 games for the Yan ks since he joined. He's made $17 million thus far. One million dollars per game started. That's gotta be some kind of a record. Here's to hoping he has an Aaron Boone basketball mishap this offseason so we don't have to coddle his sorry self back into major league baseball. Carl, GO AWAY!

Britton's numbers were great last season, especially for a 24 year old rookie. Great WHIP, good K/walk ratio (41/17), only gave up 4 home runs. I don't see anything not to like right now about this trade.

Also, this move could signal that the Yankees intend to put Proctor into the starting rotation.

Actually, Torre's plan this year is to have Proctor pitch in every game.
