He's acting downright silly. So, he never really felt comfortable in NY? I wonder if that's a feeling shared by the other FAs we've picked up over the years. But what the hell do these guys want from the team? A hot-tub in the clubhouse? Hookers? Fresh coldcuts? Hmmm, now I'm hungry.
Reports say we turned down an offer from SD to trade Sheff for Linbebrink. It may have been a three team deal with Cleveland, not sure. Either way, too bad.
And now, the rumor du jour is we're looking to deal with Detroit. No idea what who we'd get in return, but I assume it will be pitching. I don't like sending Sheff to a major player in the AL, especially considering this team handed us our hat just a few weeks ago. But it depends on who we get in return.
The reports are in- Boston apparently won the bidding on Matsuzaka. My theory- they overbid so they could ruin it for the Yanks. Boston isn't going to sign this kid.

Well, he could always retire.
Although a great move on the Yankees' part picking up Sheffield's option, you've got to admit it was an insult.
Sheffield is old yes, but I'm betting next season he puts up great numbers.
