A-Rod? Really?

A-Rod hit a clutch, game winning home run today. In other news, the forcast in hell today is a brisk 31 degrees (-1 degrees celsius).

Don't be flip, Dodort. You don't post nearly enough for that. But welcome back!

We can only hope A-Rod's homerun can turn him around, because, wow, do we need him now. If he doesn't put this team on his back for a stretch, I don't see how we can recover from losing Sheff, Matsui, and now Cano for awhile.

3.5 back, four in the lost column. That's significant. Whenever you have to start thinking "two weeks" to make up deficit, you're starting to slip away. The time for a run is now.

And I would like to thank the "best team in baseball" for playing the Sox really tough the last two nights.

Boston's on an 11 game winning streak right now. When that kind of thing happens, all you can do is try to hang on by your fingernails. Usually such a streak is followed by a period of mediocre play. If the Yanks are still back 4 after that, then we'll know we have something to worry about.

Actually, what worries me more is how far away the Central teams are getting. Usually, it didn't matter if we beat the Red Sox, as the Wild Card was just as good. It doesn't look to be the case this year.

Dodort, the post discussing what division would produce the AL wildcard has gone the way of the Dodo, but it's nice to have you back.

Has anyone taken notice to how badly the AL is beating up on the NL? It's unbelievable. No wonder all of the Fantasy League ERA's are plummenting (with the exception of mine).

The NL is basically a night without stars, a child without courage, you name it. Whoever wins the American League will walk all over their NL counterpart, as they have the past two seasons.

Most likely true, but keep an eye on St. Louis. They may be in a freefall now, but I'd be interested to see what happens when Pujols gets back up to full speed.
