Fenway Rain

After the initial dissapointment of a rain-out wore off tonight, I actually think this rain out is good for the Yanks. First of all Sheff is hurting and most likely when this game is made up in August Sheff will be manning the three hole. Second, in August I assume we will have Mr. Dotel patrolling the later innings along with Farnsworth and Mo so we won't have to go to Sturtze in a pressure situation.

I had the thought today that the wild card will not come from the East this year. The Sox, Yanks, Jays and maybe even the Orioles will beat on each other all year making the winner of the AL East the sole playoff spot. Thoughts?

If we can get solid work from Chacon and Wang, this division is ours to lose. Wang showed me that he's still prone to being nervous in tight spots. we keep forgetting that he's a kid, even if he's asian and doesn't look like you and me.

But seriously, we benefit from not having to play Boston AND for having a day off because we're playing a ton of games in a row on this moronic road trip the league office has scheduled for us. we do terirbly on the road. One less game at this point is a welcome gift.

How about Myers being absolute dogshit v. Ortiz? How about nobody ever brushes the fat man back? If this was 20 eyars ago, David Ortiz would be putting up Don Baylor-like numbers for hit-by-pitches.

I think it's too bad that a hot Chacon has to miss his day in the rotation because Jaret Wright need to stay on schedule, in hopes that if everything is just right he might one day be less than terrible.
