Yankees in good shape?

We're going to the playoffs, friends. After an arduous season, we've all but made it.

Who do we want, LA or Cleveland?

Angels have Yankees number for years.

George does not tolerate winning the Wild Card. Don't make George angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry.

George can't piss without assistance anymore. Sorry, if he gets angry, all you'll hear is some mumbling about calzones, nothing more.

As for the Yanks, their best shot is against Cleveland. The Angels have used the Yanks like a rented mule year after year. Although Detroit made short work of them last year. Really, it all comes down to whether A-Rod can continue to carry this team on his back through the playoffs. Without his bat of the last month, the Yanks wouldn't be in this position to brag.

I hear Alex will pitch if needed.

He learned the Gyroball.

Adam, are you completely losing your edge?

The Adam Cohen I know would have said this:

"The Angles have used the Yanks *like a toliet* year after year."

Ah, very true, Steiner. I guess a mediocre team brings out the mildest in me.

This team is our best since 2003, in my humble opinion. But the American League has two other good teams, both of which we'll have to beat to make the series. But I like our chances.

Best since 2003? Well... I'm not sure about that, but take A-Rod's hot bat out of the equation and I think you have exactly the same team from those other years.

Out of the Yanks' 187 HRs this season, A-Rod has hit 52. Sure, HRs don't automatically equal wins, but if you look at the situations in which many of Rodriguez's homers came into play, they have contributed to a good several wins (go-ahead HRs, walk-offs) going back to the beginning of the season. You take away A-Rod's production in key situations (let's say 10 wins) from these Yankees and you get something lesser than the teams from 2003-06. I don't think the team is terrible, I just can't call them "good."

I may have contradicted myself in my comments above... but don't let any of that dissuade you from seeing my brilliance.
