Yanks in peril?

The Phillips injury won't make much difference, at least through September. Duncan, Betemit and Mientkiewicz can play first base, and Doug is as good a defender as there is at the position. If we make the playoffs and return to a 25 man roster, however, we will feel the loss of Phillips. He's the only one of the group who is a very good defender and a decent hitter, a combination which will be valuable come the limited roster in October.

As for Roger, who knows what to think. Roger, Mussina and Hughes have sucked. The back end of our rotation looks pretty bad regardless of the combination of Mus, Roger, Hughes and Kennedy.

Andy Phillips was the glue that kept the team together. Before he was called up, the team was battling for last place. He carried the team to within 4 games of the 'Red Sox Nation.'

If only he could pitch. Talk about a string of bad luck signings the past couple of years. Wright, Pavano, Clemens, etc. The sucking continues.

If Alex Rodriguez signs with the Angels they're a legitimate contender every year just like the Yankees and Red Sox.

The $30 million or so could be used on pitching but they can't buy guys just because they're available. It's been shown that not too many can pitch with the pressure everyday in New York.

If the Yankees make the playoffs or get close it could be how they play to get there. Will it be the team that went 14 games back to 4 or the team that went 4 games to continually going back.

1 week and the playoffs are a lock, the next and I'm looking to next season.

Could there be a playoff to get to the playoffs?

I'm talking about Andy Phillips and what he means to the team.

Why should I not talk about it?

Dan, seriously, I'm cracking up laughing. If the third post was your best Yogi Berra impersonation, I think it was brilliant.

However if you were serious, I seriously have no idea what on earth you're talking about.

Maybe the team will unite in honor of their fallen comrade and play better. I don't think its going to matter. Seattle has sucked badly recently.

Phillips might be back in time for the playoffs should this team make it that far without him

How dare you Adam! You've got some stugots bringing that attitude here.

I wish we lived in the day where you could challenge a person to a duel.

This blog needs an overhaul. I'm talking about the Yankees, not the blog.

I feel expendable. Like when you get invited to a party and nobody notices.
