No surprise
Check this out, from an article Adam linked to below:
"Bleeding after a long summer of Steinbrenner's harpooning, Torre flew to Tampa to clear the air. The two sat in a conference room at Legends Field and acknowledged the many poisonings of their relationship. First on the agenda was the YES Network's postgame questions, which Torre felt were Steinbrenner's way of sabotaging him in public. The manager was convinced the network's reporters were encouraged, it not ordered, to challenge his decisions, a tactic that fooled no one, least of all Torre."

That article is a HUGE slap across the face of the YES "reporters." Not since Pravda have we seen a less credible lot of newspeople. Michael Kay is a bum, and Susan Waldman is part Yeti... all the bad parts that is.
So, Mark, you don't believe it? Kay has always seemed like an Uber toady to me. I'm not saying I haven't liked him, but he's a company man, through and through. I completely believe that they were pressured to be "tough" on Torre after games.
Around the time Wang got hurt last season, Brian Cashman did a legendary interview on "Mike and the Mad-dog" (which is simulcasted on the YES network and WFAN Sports Radio 660). In this interview, Mike "Fat-Addict" Francesa tore into Cashman like he was a large eclair. It was by far the most offensive behavior I've seen or heard by any sports reporter in my short life. Now, with this revelation in the ESPN.com article, Francesa's behavior makes total sense. George is a great man, and we are his warriors, but man is he a bastard for pulling the strings like that...
PUT Mike & THE MAD-DOG'S FACES ON THE WALL OF VILLAINS!!!
Adam, do we ever agree on anything? I don't think Francesa is implicated in this. He's a radio host, it's his job to be a blowhard. I don't think he's taking orders from Tampa, and I don't think that's who Joe had in mind.
If you heard that interview, you would understand where I'm coming from!
You're a Francesa apologist! PUT YOUR PICTURE ON THE WALL OF VILLAINS!
No, it's obvious that Kay and Waldman are company men, but don't put it past the Boss to offer Francesa a three-hour, closed-off-to-the-public, private party for one at a Sizzler of his choice.
Quid pro quo.
Adam, I think you missed a few easy jokes about Francesa's weight in your last few posts. Don't get me wrong, you hit most of them, but you might have missed a few. You better go back and mop up.
Mark has been a regular Francesa watcher since we first got YES in Syracuse. I would come in the living room, there would be written outlines everywhere (Mark, your first mistake), and Francesa on the tube. He would then transition into Nachman and then finally Donahue. It was a great life!
Jerry Nachman... RIP fella.
I make fun of Francesa's weight because I am a lazy insult-comic.
Mark... Donahue? Explain yourself, man!
Wasn't Keyes' show called "Making Sense"?
Here it is: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0307714/
Ashley Banfield... awww yeah! She helped get me through the post-2000 Election bruhaha. Man, for a canadian, she was something! To be fair, this was the absolute low-point of my life: I was unemployed, I had wrecked my car, I had no money and Anthony can attest to this- I couldn't even afford a haircut. BUT- I still scraped together enough coins to rent a tux so we could go to the Inaugural Ball. Tony, remember the birch beer? How could you forget?
Please put up a new article, that Waldman picture is bothering my dogs. They won't eat anymore...
